CLSS Respite programs provide short-term relief for adults ages 21 and up with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. We give families and caregivers a much-needed break while offering an exciting and safe environment for our participants to enjoy with friends. CLSS Respite provides life-changing experiences for all who attend. Throughout the weekend, respite consistently focuses on four core competencies: recreation, leisure, learning, and having fun!
Great Staff and Great Experiences
We work to match our participants with DSP (Direct Support Professional) staff to enhance each member's experiences. Respite staff promotes participation through motivational support, fostering teamwork, decision-making, and empowering others. Our participants will always have a choice in the activity they would like to participate in and will be encouraged by our staff to try new and exciting things.
What to Expect During Your Respite Stay.
We understand it takes time to prepare for a weekend away. Please look through our handout for packing list suggestions, a sample of weekend activities, payment options, staff training, local drop-off locations, check-in/out times, and more.
Supporting Participants for a Successful Experience
CLSS partners with families and guardians to make each participant's experience successful. In order for us to do this, we need families and guardians to provide extensive information about each participant. CLSS also acknowledges not all participants are appropriate for the setting in which Respite is provided.
Our Respite Programs provide individual and group-based services. When identifying your loved one's care ratio in the application, please refer to CLSS care ratio for guidance.
CLSS is a DDD-approved service provider, we are not a crisis service organization. Therefore, CLSS reserves the right to deny services to individuals who we believe pose a safety threat to themselves, other participants, and/or our support staff.
